Lebanon U17 national football team has officially withdrawn from the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers due to the ongoing war with Israel, which has hindered their ability to travel abroad.
The qualifiers were scheduled to take place in Vientiane, Laos, at the Lao National Stadium KM16, where Lebanon was drawn into Group H alongside Laos(Host), UAE, and Malaysia.
The Lebanese Football Association (Lebanon FA) submitted a formal withdrawal request to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), citing travel restrictions caused by the conflict, which has led to the closure of Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport.
The war, marked by the exchange of missiles between Lebanon and Israel, has severely impacted the country’s infrastructure and made international travel impossible.
With Lebanon’s withdrawal, Group H now consists of only three teams: Laos (host), UAE, and Malaysia. The matches will proceed as scheduled from October 23-27, 2024.
