Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team, said he was pleased with the overall performance of the players, who were quite aggressive and he lived up to their identity as the Harimau Malaya.
Malaysia made a surprise comeback to tie 2-2 with Syria last Wednesday. That match to make a positive decision in the second friendly match against China at Phoenix Hill Stadium, Chengdu, tomorrow evening.
“I am happy with all the players because they have become more confident and aggressive while also succeeding in forming the desired character,” Pan-Gon said.
“This situation will continue when we meet China tomorrow in an effort to reach a positive decision for the country’s sake.”
“This spirit is good enough to be carried into the match for qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2026/AFC Asian Cup 2027 and the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Qatar,”
Meanwhile, the country’s strong defence, Dion Cools, said the players were unafraid to meet China even though the team was ranked 80th.
“As everyone knows, we respect China’s ranking, but the coaching team has studied the players and their style of play.” Cools said.
“We will act as planned by the coach and hope to give China a fierce rival,”
