Johor Darul Ta’Zim announced will follow by releasing the players to the national camp seven days before first match day on FIFA calendar.
This was announced by Alistair Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of the club’s on the team’s official social media that JDT will follow by releasing the players to the national camp seven days before match day.
“Johor Darul Ta’zim FC will follow global best practices in regards to national team call-ups with an exception of releasing players seven days before a match, thus enabling the national teams of our players to call-up their respective players several days before the FIFA International Match Calendar period.” CEO of JDT said in official statement.
“Most national teams around the world only call-up their players during the window provided by FIFA, but JDT have agreed to use our discretion in releasing players seven days before the first match.”
“For example, the next FIFA window is from March 18 to March 26. Malaysia is scheduled to play the World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers on March 22, and JDT will release our players as early as March 15. Football regulations state clubs only need to release players on March 18.”
“Considering the bulk of the key players in the Malaysian squad is from JDT, we believe that JDT players called-up to the national team will be able to build understanding and fitness through our high-intensity training and world-class facilities at the JDT Training Centre.”
