Selangor FC confirmed left already after losing to Persib Bandung, a club from Indonesia scoring 2-3 in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 Group Stage, Group G at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
Selangor got off to the perfect start when Chrigor Moraes opened the scoring in just the third minute, calmly converting Alvin Fortes’ precise pass to beat Persib goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam.
Fourteen minutes later, the home side doubled their advantage through a Patricio Matricardi own goal, after the Persib defender accidentally turned the ball into his own net while attempting to block Zach Clough’s cross.
Persib struggled to respond in the first half despite efforts from Andrew Jung, Uilliam Barros, and Berguinho, as Selangor’s defense, led by debutant Mamadou Diarra, held firm to maintain the 2–0 lead at halftime.
After the restart, Bojan Hodak’s men came out fighting, increasing pressure on the Selangor backline. Their persistence paid off in the 48th minute, when French striker Andrew Jung capitalized on a loose ball inside the penalty box to pull one back for the visitors.
Persib continued to push for an equalizer, forcing Selangor into defensive mode. In response, Selangor head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi introduced Willian Lira, replacing Chrigor to add fresh energy up front.
However, the tactical changes favored the visitors. Substitute Adam Aris leveled the score in the 81st minute with a composed finish, before striking again in stoppage time to seal a dramatic 3–2 victory for the Indonesian side.
The loss means Selangor FC end their ACL Two campaign bottom of Group G without a single point from four matches. Meanwhile, Persib Bandung remain top of the group with 10 points, strengthening their position to progress to the knockout rounds.
With their continental journey over, Selangor will now turn their attention to domestic action — preparing for the FA Cup semi-final first leg against Sabah FC on 9 November.
