Pau FC has refused Nguyen Quang Hai to join with Vietnam national team in AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 in December due this tournament is not part of FIFA Day calendar.
On the afternoon of October 29, Mr. Le Hoai Anh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), confirmed that Quang Hai would not be able to attend. AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022. due to this competition is not a part of FIFA Day. Therefore, Club Pau has the right not to release players.
“We exchanged, but according to the law, the AFF Cup is not part of FIFA Days, so they do not return the players to us. Similarly, we also see that Thailand will not have Chanathip Songkrasin in the AFF Cup”, Mr. Le Hoai Anh said.
VFF informed Coach Park Hang-seo about this. The Korean strategist will calculate tactical options and personnel to ensure the strength of the Vietnamese team in Quang Hai’s absence.
With the absence of Quang Hai, Vietnam’s ambition to reclaim the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 will be affected. Previously, coach Park Hang-Seo had expressed his wish that VFF would work more actively with Pau FC to bring the midfielder to play.
“Me and Coach Park Hang-Seo are discussing. This is my wish. To compete in any tournament and put it on. The color of the national team is my desire. However, whether I can play in the AFF Cup or not depends on whether I will work with the current club.” Quang Hai said.
