Malaysia U23 national team announced the squad of 23 players to participate in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 in Uzbekistan. during 1-19 June 2022.
Brad Maloney, head coach of Malaysia U23 decided bot change players from the Men’s Football SEA Games 2021 instead he still has faith in the line-up of this squad.
However, from the final list of 20 players for the 2021 SEA Games, Maloney brought in an additional three players, namely Rahadiazli Rahalim, Umar Hakeem, and Shafi Azswad who were previously on the list ready for the 2021 SEA Games to complete the final list of 23 players to Tashkent.

For the Group C competition, Malaysia will start the campaign against the Korea Republic on Thursday, 2 June 2022, at 9.00 pm (Malaysian time), Thailand on Sunday, 5 June 2022, at 11.00 pm (Malaysian time), and Vietnam on Wednesday, 8 June. 2022, at 9.00 pm (Malaysian time).
The group stage matches are scheduled to take place at the Lokomotiv Stadium and Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent.
