Johor Darul Ta’zim have etched their name further into football history after equalling the second-longest unbeaten league run in the world, reaching an incredible 104 matches without defeat.
This remarkable achievement sees JDT level with Romanian powerhouse Steaua Bucharest, placing them just behind the all-time record held by ASEC Mimosas, who went 108 league matches unbeaten between 1989 and 1994.
With only five more league games needed to surpass ASEC Mimosas’ long-standing record, JDT now stand on the brink of global football immortality.
Their dominance in the Malaysia Super League has been nothing short of extraordinary, with the club not losing a single league match since April 2021.
Beyond league competition, the Southern Tigers have maintained an unbeaten record across all domestic competitions since 2021—an unprecedented run that underlines their superiority in Malaysian football.
This consistency has also translated into historic silverware, including the completion of a “triple quadruple”—winning all major domestic trophies across multiple consecutive seasons without tasting defeat.
