Kim Pan-gon, head coach of Malaysia national team, admitted need victory only for back to open the door of opportunity to the Round of 16 in match against Bahrain in the AFC Asian Cup 2023, Group Stage, Group E second match tomorrow.
According to him, this clash is quite important to revive supporters’ hopes in reviving opportunities and scouting slots for the next round.
“We are looking at everything we need to do to win this match, and we don’t want to draw or lose, especially in tomorrow’s very critical match,” Pan-gon said in the pre-match press conference today.
“It (the win) is important for us and we need to win with Bahrain.”
“Likewise the meeting with South Korea and the need to achieve something even though we know the quality of the country’s troops is quite far from Korea’s,”
Meanwhile, Shahrul Saad, a defender from Johor Darul Ta’Zim, remains hopeful that Malaysia’s struggle is not over and is ready to rise in front of Malaysian supporters who can come to Doha.
“We have prepared several days before tomorrow’s match in a positive mood. We know we can do something for tomorrow’s match.”
“Malaysia has a quality game that we need to provide. “I believe we can win over Bahrain,”
AFC Asian Cup 2023, Group Stage, Group E between Bahrain and Malaysia will be played on 20 January 2024 at 10.30 pm. (Malaysian time) at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
