Indonesia U17 national team clinch the second point in this tournament after tying with the Panama U17 national team, scoring 1-1 in the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group A at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
In the first half, Panama took a 1-0 lead over Indonesia through Oldemar Castillo’s goal in the 45+3 minute.
Starting from Iqbal Gwijangge’s pass which was too weak, Castillo stole the ball.
Castillo passed four Indonesian players before outwitting Ikram with a gouge kick.
Different from the first half, Indonesia immediately put pressure on Panama from the start of the second half.
Indonesia’s attempt to score a return goal was created in the 54th minute. Starting from a free kick from the left side, the Panama player then threw the ball perfectly.
Welber Jardim, who received a wild ball, immediately sent a cross into the penalty box from the right side. Jardim’s pass was met by Arkhan Kaka with a header without goalkeeper Manuel Romero being able to anticipate it.
In the 68th minute Arkhan Kaka again had a good chance to score a goal. Arkhan received Nabil Ashura’s breakthrough pass.
However, due to the tight guard of the opposing players, Arkhan’s right-footed shot from inside the penalty box was caught by the goalkeeper.

In the 87th minute, substitute Kevin Walder almost broke into the Indonesia goal. Walder’s header from a corner kick sailed narrowly over Ikram’s goal.
Hanif Ramadhan wasted a golden opportunity for Indonesia in the minute of injury time, 90+5′. Hanif received a horizontal pass from Arkhan Kaka.
However, in a position where the opposing player was not guarded, Hanif’s right foot shot from inside the penalty box was too weak, making it easy for goalkeeper Romero to catch the ball.
