Malaysia U20 Women’s National Team wrapped up their AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifying campaign in style, securing a 2-0 win over Guam at the KLFA Stadium, Cheras,
Malaysia lined up with Diana Syafiqah in goal, Dhiyaa Addin as captain, and striker Kaseh Carlmila leading the attack. Guam, meanwhile, fielded Sierra Ruehl between the posts, skipper Lexi Taitague, and key forward Hinengi San Nicolas.
The opening half saw both teams pushing aggressively for their first win of the campaign. Playing on home turf, the Malayan Tigress created several dangerous chances, but Guam’s disciplined defence and sharp goalkeeping denied them the breakthrough. Guam also had moments of promise, but their shots failed to trouble Diana Syafiqah as both sides went into halftime level at 0-0.
The second half continued at a high tempo, with Guam nearly striking first through San Nicolas, whose effort drifted just wide. Malaysia finally broke the deadlock in the 64th minute when Kaseh Carlmila unleashed a stunning shot past Ruehl to send the home crowd into celebration.
Guam pushed hard for an equaliser, but Malaysia’s defence held firm, showing composure and discipline under pressure. Deep into the match, Kaseh Carlmila struck again, sealing the win and confirming all three points for the hosts.
The final whistle confirmed a 2-0 victory, giving the Malayan Tigress a confident finish to their qualification campaign and plenty of positives to build on for the future.
