Uzbekistan U23 national team, Asian represent had no point in the opening match after losing to Spain U23 national team scoring 1-2 in the Men’s Football of Olympic 2024 Group Stage, Group C at Parc De Princes, Paris.
Spain, fresh off their UEFA European Championship win, began their quest for Olympic gold with a hard-fought victory. Marc Pubill scored the opening goal for Spain in the first half.
However, Uzbekistan equalized from the penalty spot through Eldor Shomurodov.
Spain regained the lead shortly after the hour mark, but not without drama. Sergio Gomez had his penalty saved in the 59th minute, but he redeemed himself by scoring from the penalty spot just three minutes later, securing the win for Spain.
