Teru Oniki, head coach of Kawasaki Frontale resolute in ensuring his men maintain the composure to emerge as group leaders in match vs Johor Darul Ta’Zim in the AFC Champions League 2022 group stage, Group I tomorrow.
“I already knew beforehand that JDT were a strong side, but clearly, they confirmed my assessment with their result against Ulsan, so we are fully aware that only our best performance will assure us the victory,” said Oniki.
“We must remember we are facing some issues acclimatising to the heat, so I have emphasised to my players that they can’t afford to underestimate JDT.”
“In many ways, JDT’s approach is very similar to ours but we must be able to impose our style.
“At the same time, they are also a very attacking-minded team, which means the game will be quite open, so I am expecting us to score tomorrow and from then on, it is a matter of keeping our discipline.”
AFC Champions League 2022, group stage, Group I, matchday 3 between Kawasaki Frontale vs Johor Darul Ta’zim will be played on 21 April at 10.00 pm. at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
