Lionel Messi, striker of Argentina national team will not travel to Indonesia for match against Indonesia national team in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match on 19 June.
This was reiterated by Gaston Edul, an Argentine journalist who explained Messi will play in the match against the Australia national team at Worker Stadium, Beijing, China on 15 June only.
“Leo Messi will start against Australia, but he will not travel to Indonesia. He will not play the second match,” Gaston said via Twitter.
“The Argentine National Team will train open to the press tomorrow at 9am Argentinian time. Julián Álvarez will arrive in China in a few hours,”
In addition, TYC Sport, Argentine media revealed that Messi had received permission from the Argentine Football Association(AFA) not to take part in the match against Indonesia.
Messi is expected to find some peace after a disastrous season with Paris Saint-Germain, which the Argentina captain understands has been quite stressful.
It also relates to Messi’s move to Inter Miami, where he will be introduced on 1 July. Messi wanted to take a break or relax before joining Inter Miami, and that was the reason he didn’t come to Indonesia.
