Terengganu FC has rediscovered its bite. After a frustrating home slip-up last week, the Turtles proved they can still produce the goods on the road, dispatching Kelantan The Real Warriors 2-0 at Stadium MPS, Selayang.
It wasn’t just a win; it was a much-needed “reset” for coach Tengku Hazman Raja Hassan as his side navigated a tricky encounter to climb back up the Super League standings.
The first half was a cagey affair that had “draw” written all over it. Both sides looked like they were playing on a chessboard rather than a football pitch, struggling to find the killer final ball. Terengganu’s Pashanbe Ehsoni came closest in the 26th minute, but his thunderous strike whistled just over the woodwork, leaving the score deadlocked at the break.
The second half saw a different TFC. The visitors came out with more intent, and it paid off in the 57th minute. Gervane Kastaneer showed exactly why he’s the main man, ghosting into the box to slot home a clinical opener that sent the traveling fans into a frenzy.
Kelantan TRW attempted a desperate late surge, but TFC’s backline held firm. The drama reached its peak in the dying seconds when Terengganu were awarded a penalty. Shervoni Mabatshoev stepped up, ignored the mind games from the keeper, and buried the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0.
