Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) confirmed French Super Cup (Trophée des Champions) 2023 will be held in Thailand on 5 August 2023. at Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok
Thailand will be the second country in Asia to host the competition French Super Cup after visiting Asia 3 times in China in 2014 in Beijing, and in 2018, 2019 in Shenzhen.
French Super Cup, is a competition that will bring the champions of Ligue 1. and the French Cup(Coupe de France) champion of the last season to play before opening the season.
“For this 2023 edition, the LFP is turning to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, with the ambition of creating a highlight around French football in Southeast Asia, where the number of fans is estimated at 400 million. football venues, and filling the famous Rajamangala National Stadium, in partnership with Fresh Air Festival Co., Ltd.” LFP said in official announcement.
The Fresh Air Festival Group is one of Thailand’s leading event organizers, boasting major concerts, festivals and the region’s biggest ever football match last summer.
Alongside the Fresh Air Festival group, the LFP is very happy to be able to offer the best of French football to the Thai public and promote the image of France throughout the region and internationally.
As part of its CSR strategy, and in addition to the efforts to reduce the carbon footprint that is carried out as part of the organization of the Trophée des Champions, the LFP has decided to contribute to France’s climate commitments aimed at neutrality carbon. The LFP will thus participate in the financing of a project labeled “Label Bas Carbone” by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, allowing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in France.
