Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team not satisfied about the performance of player and need players to improve their fitness after match victory over Turkmenistan national team 1-0 in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri last night.
Malaysia win Turkmenistan with a score of 1-0 scored by Akhyar Rashid, a striker from Johor Darul Ta’Zim.
“We had many chances to score goals, at least three or four goals, but the efficiency of Turkmenistan’s goalkeeper prevented us from winning more comfortably.” Pan-Gon said in post-match press conference.
“I want the consistency of the game and the players need to maintain mental strength and discipline to reduce mistakes.”
“There are players who experience muscle spasms and it shouldn’t happen because I want a fast game pattern and always keep the ball moving for the smoothness of the game and what happens like spasms and an unsatisfactory level of fitness cannot exist among the players,”
“The game I play requires physical and mental endurance, as well as high discipline from the players, we saw tonight that there were players who couldn’t follow, so we need to improve our performance.”
“The players have to improve their fitness level but maybe this is because the season has just started so the players haven’t played many matches yet, I expect we will be better in June and September,”
“We have to improve from the aspect of passing the ball because we want to be better than what the players do when they are in action, in fact it needs to be strengthened immediately because we will be playing against a strong team in the Asian Cup later.”
“Regarding the first appearance of Feroz, Endrick, Nooa Laine, Paulo, they seem to be still struggling to absorb the practical tactical pattern but I will help them to adapt as soon as possible,”
