Malaysia Beach Soccer National Team, confirmed out after losing to Oman National Team scoring 3-6 in the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025 Group Stage, Group D at Jomtien Beach Arena, Pattaya.
Oman started aggressively, keeping Malaysia under immense pressure. Mohamad Norazman made a crucial goal-line clearance early on, denying Khalid Aloraimi, while Salim Aloraimi’s spectacular overhead kick rattled the post in the opening exchanges.
Their relentless attacking play paid off in the third minute, as an unmarked Abdullah Masoud easily rounded Malaysian goalkeeper Mohamad Syujak before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
Malaysia struggled to gain momentum and was punished again in the 10th minute, when Mushel Al Araimi curled a stunning shot into the far corner, doubling Oman’s lead.
Determined to stay in the competition, Malaysia came out stronger in the second period. Their persistence paid off in the 18th minute, when Muhamad Hafizal fired a low shot past Oman’s goalkeeper Younis Al Owaisi, cutting the deficit to 1-2.
A minute later, Muhammad Quishairie capitalized on a defensive error, smashing the ball into the net to bring Malaysia level at 2-2.
However, Oman quickly regained their composure, reclaiming the lead in the 24th minute when Musallam Al Araimi skillfully dribbled past two Malaysian defenders before firing a low shot past Syujak.
Oman started the third period with renewed aggression, extending their lead in the 25th minute when Yahya Al Muraiki’s shot took a wicked deflection, wrong-footing Syujak and making it 4-2.
Al Muraiki struck again just three minutes later, overpowering his marker before blasting a low shot into the net, putting Oman firmly in control at 5-2.
Malaysia showed resilience as Hafizal bagged his second goal in the 31st minute, giving Malaysia a glimmer of hope. However, Oman shut the door on any comeback, sealing the victory in the final minute through Mandhar Al Araimi, ensuring a 6-3 triumph.
The defeat marks a disappointing end to Malaysia’s campaign, as they fail to progress beyond the group stage. Despite moments of brilliance, defensive lapses and Oman’s ruthless finishing proved to be the difference.
