Thailand Futsal National Team clinched the spot of finalist after beating Tajikistan Futsal National Team in the penalties shoot-out, scoring 6-5 after tied in 50 minutes 3-3 in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2024 Semi-Final at Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok.
In the beginning game, Thailand was the side open to attack and made opportunities.
In the 13th minute, following the kick-in of Thailand by Narongsak Wingwon passing to Worasak Srirangpairot’s charge in close range, Thailand led 1-0.
But in the last minute of the first half, following a fast break of Tajikistan and Bahodur Khojaev crossing to Dilshod Samolov’s shot to the right corner, Tajikistan equalizer 1-1.
In the remaining time of the first half, there was no additional score, and ending the first half, both teams tied 1-1.
In the second half, not long time, in the 23rd minute, following a miscommunication between defender Thailand and Fayzali Sardorov passing to Bahadur Khojaev’s charge in close range, Tajikistan led 2-1.
In the 30th minute, following a fast break of Tajikistan and Fayzali Sardorov passing to Bahadur Khojaev’s shot from outside the box, Tajikistan led 3-1.
After conceding 3rd goal, Thailand decided to use Powerplay as Worasak Srirangphairot to increase the power of attack.
In the 31st minute, following the attack of Thailand and Worasak Srirangphairot passing into the box, Alongkorn Janphon made the first attempt to hit the bar and rebounded again to the goal, Thailand following 2-3.
In the 38th minute, following a fast break of Thailand and Jirawat Sornwichian’s passing to Therdsak Charoenpong’s shot into the goal, Thailand equalized 3-3.
The remaining time of the second half had no additional score, ending tied 3-3 and continuing to extra time period.
In the extra time, Thailand played heavy attack to get the goal for leading but couldn’t make it, ending extra time still tied 3-3 and continuing to penalty shoot-out.
In the penalty shoot-out, in the first 5 attempts, both could make 3 goals and tied 3-3 and needed a sudden death shot, and Thailand won 6-5 and became a finalist.
Thailand will play in the final round to face the winner between Uzbekistan and Iran.
