Johor Darul Ta’Zim has made a major statement in the transfer market by securing the services of former AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo.
The announcement was made through an official video by Johor Southern Tigers, showcasing Castillejo’s arrival at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium and his unveiling in the iconic blue jersey of the Southern Tigers.
“With over 300 matches for LaLiga & Serie A clubs, Samu Castillejo is now a Southern Tiger,” JDT proudly announced.
The 30-year-old Spaniard is a familiar name in European football, having played for top clubs such as AC Milan, Villarreal, Valencia, and Málaga. His experience and skill set are expected to provide JDT with a significant attacking boost as they prepare for the AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25.
Castillejo becomes JDT’s fifth import signing of the season, joining a squad determined to make an impact in both domestic and continental competitions.
His arrival comes at a crucial time as JDT prepares to face Buriram United in the ACLE Round of 16 next week.
