The recent French Open 2022’s Women Double champion, Pearly-Thinaah, is out from Round 32 today at the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2023, played in the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
Pearly-Thinaah lost to the World Ranking 14’s pair, Gabriela Stoeva-Stefani Stoeva from Bulgaria. The Bulgarian pair starts their campaign by defeating Pearly-Thinaah with scores of 21-19 and 21-14.
A disappointing and surprising early exit of Pearly-Thinaah, who had done exceptionally well in 2022 by winning the Birmingham Commonwealth Game and French Open.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Men’s Double Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi wins over China’s Ren Xiang Yu-Tan Qiang. Malaysia’s Mixed Double Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai defeated Chinese Taipei mixed Chang Ko Chi-Lee Chih Chen.
Malaysia’s Men Single Liew Daren also had a win over France’s Toma Jr Popov in three sets match, and Liew Daren will continue his journey in this campaign.
