Johor Darul Ta’zim officially punched their ticket to the Semi-Finals after a ruthless 3-1 dismantling of Melaka FC in the Piala Malaysia 2025/26 Quarter-Final at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
JDT’s Brazilian talisman Jairo da Silva was in a “cheat code” mood all night. He didn’t just score; he terrorized the Melaka backline from the opening whistle.
The Opener (7’): Jairo sent a peach of a cross into the box for La’Vere Corbin Ong to head home, silencing the home crowd early.
The Braces (31’ & 56’): Jairo then decided to do it himself, netting two clinical goals to kill off any lingering Melaka hopes.
Credit to Melaka—they didn’t park the bus. Captain Shahrel Fikri and Do Dong-hyun tried to spark a miracle, but JDT’s Christian Abad was solid in goal. The home fans finally had something to cheer about in stoppage time when Ahmed Shamsaldin unleashed a stunning acrobatic strike to pull one back. A world-class goal, but unfortunately, it was too little, too late.
With the tie effectively over after a heavy first-leg lead, JDT didn’t take their foot off the gas, completing a staggering 8-1 aggregate.
The path to the trophy just got interesting! JDT’s victory sets up a mouth-watering Semi-Final clash against Kuala Lumpur City.
