Park Hang-Seo, Head coach of Vietnam national team revealed he wants to test tactic of Kim Pan-Gon with Malaysia national team in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 Group stage, Group B tomorrow.
“The whole team has to play well. We have analyzed the Malaysian game pattern. The existing Malaysian line-up is of good quality even though they are missing some key players.” Hang-Seo said in a pre-match press conference today at VFF office.
“Looking at the Malaysian line-up in the previous two matches, it is difficult to identify which player they will drop. When against Laos, they changed 8 players and it means the coach [Kim Pan Gon] kept the main pillar,”
“Every country has different policies and cultures. I do not support or oppose the Malaysian naturalization project. I have done research on all their naturalized players. Sergio Aguero and Lee Tuck are incredible,”
In addition, Park Hang-Seo also knows Kim Pan-Gon very well because he comes from the same country as him. He is also looking forward to testing Pan Gon’s tactics because they rarely clash at the international level.
“I know coach Kim. His game philosophy is unpredictable. Mr. Kim comes from the same country as me. When he was still playing, I was already a coach.”
“He went to Hong Kong to play football and work as a coach there. Later, he returned to Korea to serve as the Technical Director for Korea FA. He is involved in an important task. In Hong Kong, Mr. Kim is a good and successful coach,”
“Regarding the Malaysian team, after Mr. Kim arrived, their playing style is much different, the morale of the players is very high. Regarding their 3-4-3 formation, I think to talk about the fit, there are many factors, Mr. Kim must have done a lot of research and choose the right way to play.”
“Through 2 matches, I saw the Malaysian players are very fast. When passing, they often make dangerous attempts in front of the goal,” he said.
