Yashir Islame, a Palestinian winger Rayong FC, publicly accused Dennis Murillo, a striker for Nakhonratchasima Mazda FC, of racially abusing him during a recent match.
Yashir shared his statement on Instagram, revealing that he intends to take legal action against Murillo for the alleged discriminatory remarks.
Nakhonratchasima Mazda FC had previously stated after conducting an internal investigation, asserting that Dennis Murillo did not use any discriminatory language during the incident. However, Yashir remained firm in his accusations, urging both the Thai League and FIFA to take serious measures.
In his Instagram post, Yashir explained the nature of the abuse, stating that Murillo repeatedly referred to him as a “terrorist” and a “Palestinian terrorist.” He emphasized that such comments were made with full awareness and were unacceptable, calling for equality and respect regardless of religion, race, or gender.
“A picture is worth a thousand words,” Yashir said on IG.
“To clarify, “terrorist” in English is translated as “terrorist”. As you can see in the images, he repeatedly referred to me as a “terrorist, Palestinian terrorist”, with complete and absolute awareness of what he was saying.”
“We are all equal regardless of religion, race or gender.”
“I hope that @fifa and @thaileague take strong and punitive actions. For my part, I am evaluating the relevant legal actions.”
“Many thanks to the great Rayong FC family @rayongfc_official and to all the people who have shown me love and respect through social networks.”
Yashir also expressed gratitude to his club, Rayong FC, and to supporters who stood by him during this difficult time, while he evaluates his legal options.
Yashir Islame is an ex-player in the Malaysian League and has played with 4 clubs in Malaysia Melaka United, Perak FA, PKNP FC, and Negeri Sembilan FC.
