Kuching City made the first victory in this season after beating PDRM FC scoring 2-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium Negeri, Kuching.
Kuching City, coming off a grueling 120-minute match against Selangor FC in the Piala FA Malaysia 2024/25 quarter-final, showed resilience and determination. Meanwhile, PDRM FC had not played in the last two weeks after being eliminated by Malaysian University in the round of 16 of the Piala FA.
The match began with a quick start as Kuching City’s talented midfielder Daniel Amier scored the opening goal in the 2nd minute, thanks to a neat pass from Jordan Mintah.
In the 33rd minute, PDRM FC was awarded a penalty kick after Fadi Awad was tackled by Kuching City’s defender, Yuki Tanigawa. However, Ifedayo Olusegun’s penalty kick was brilliantly saved by Kuching City goalkeeper Shahril Saa’ri.
In the second half, PDRM FC made several substitutions in search of an equalizer but failed to find the back of the net. Instead, Kuching City extended their lead in the final minutes through their sensational striker, Jordan Mintah, who scored the team’s second goal.
The match concluded with Kuching City recording a stylish 2-0 victory over PDRM FC, marking their first win of the season.
