Malaysia national futsal team, under the guidance of Thai head coach Rakphol Sainetngam, has selected 16 players for Malaysia’s upcoming campaign in the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024.
The squad will depart for Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, for their final phase of central training before heading to Nakhon Ratchasima. The tournament will run from November 2 to 10, 2024.
The team is composed of a blend of experienced and young talent, with the majority of players coming from top clubs such as Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT), Selangor FC, Pahang Rangers FC, Malaysian University, and Shah Alam City FC. The selection features a strong lineup of fix, pivot, ala, and goalkeeper positions.

As part of their final preparations, Malaysia will play two friendly matches in Bangkok, facing Australia on October 27 and Thai club Bluewave Chonburi FC on October 30. These matches will help the team fine-tune their tactics and adapt to competitive conditions before they head to Nakhon Ratchasima on October 31.
Malaysia has been drawn into Group A, where they will compete against hosts Thailand, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and Brunei. Group B features Indonesia, Myanmar, Australia, and Cambodia.
Malaysia’s opening match is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2024, against Brunei. The full schedule for the group stage is as follows:
