Ulsan HD FC, a club in the K-League, has appointed Kim Pan-Gon as their new head coach for the third leg of the 2024 season.
Kim Pan-Gon will replace Hong Myung-Bo, who has moved on to become the head coach of the Korea Republic national team.
Kim Pan-Gon served as the head coach of the Malaysia national team from February 2022 until his resignation on July 16, 2024, citing personal commitments.
His coaching career in South Korean football includes positions such as assistant head coach at Busan I-Park from 2005 to 2008 and at Gyeongnam FC in 2011. He has also been the head coach of the Hong Kong national team, leading both the U23 squad in 2009 and 2012-2013, and the main squad from 2012 to 2017.
This appointment marks a return to Ulsan HD FC for Kim Pan-Gon, who played for the club from 1992 to 1996.
