Malaysia national team clinch win 4 matches consecutive after crush Papua New Guinea national team with a score of 10-0 in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak.
The first half saw PNG being repeatedly attacked by Malaysia. But most of the national team’s attempts were denied by the Papuan goalkeeper, Ronald Warisan.
Paulo Josue was disappointed when his two goals were disallowed by the referee. The first goal was disallowed for offside with the second disallowed after Josue was adjudged to have fouled the visitors’ defense.
But Malaysia’s determination to get a goal finally worked when Akhyar Rashid was brought down in the penalty box in the last minute of the first half.
Safawi, who was given the responsibility of completing the penalty kick, easily beat Warisan to put Malaysia in front.
Realizing that Malaysia’s position was still in danger despite leading 1-0, Malaysia coach Kim Pan-gon introduced Faisal Halim, Arif Aiman , and Daniel Ting in the second half.
The game was successful with Josue scoring the second goal of the game in the 52nd minute. The goal erased the disappointment he experienced in the first half.
Arif Aiman then made his name as a scorer in the 57th minute when he unleashed a powerful shot to beat Warisan. Faisal then added a fourth goal in the 57th minute.
Faisal Halim then cleared the ball which was easily completed by Arif Aiman in the 60th minute. Josue then created a hat-trick through two goals in the 64th and 70th minutes.
With the result 7-0 in favor of the home team, PNG fortified themselves in their section hoping to avoid conceding again. However, Daniel Ting added to Malaysia’s glorious night with the eighth goal in the 76th minute.
As if not satisfied with two goals, Arif Aiman ensured added 2 goals in the 87th and 89th minutes tp be 10-0.
This match is the second biggest win record in the history of Malaysia national team, Which biggest win is the match win Philippines national team 11-0 in the Asian Games 1974 in Tehran, Iran.
