Former Kelantan The Real Warriors FC head coach E. Elavarasan has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Melaka FC, the reigning Liga A1 Semi-Pro champions, as the club looks to revive its fortunes in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 season.
The appointment was confirmed by Melaka FC in a brief statement today, putting an end to speculation surrounding the successor to former head coach K. Devan.
Elavarasan will be assisted by former Sarawak import player Muamer Salibasic, who previously served as his assistant during their stint together at Kelantan TRW. The reunion is expected to bring stability and familiarity to Melaka’s technical bench at a crucial stage of the campaign.
Melaka have turned to Elavarasan’s experience as they attempt to climb out of the relegation zone. After 12 matches, the team sit 12th in the Liga Super standings with just six points, having recorded one win, three draws and eight defeats.
The former national youth coach is tasked with arresting Melaka’s poor run of form and instilling greater discipline and competitiveness as the season enters its second half.
Elavarasan’s arrival is also part of a wider reshuffle at the club. According to reports by Astro Arena journalists Fadhirul Shuhaimi and Zulhelmi Zainal Azam, Melaka are set to bolster their squad with two new signings from Eastern Europe.
The players are Argzim Redzovic and Dino Kalesic, with Redzovic already a familiar name in Malaysian football, having previously featured for PDRM FC and Terengganu FC.
With fresh faces on the sidelines and reinforcements on the pitch, Melaka FC will be hoping Elavarasan’s influence can spark a turnaround and steer the club away from further danger in the Liga Super.
