Andoni Zubiaurre, a 27-year-old Spanish goalkeeper, has joined Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) for the 2024/25 Liga Super Malaysia season after leaving CD Eldense in LaLiga Hypermotion.
Zubiaurre’s arrival at JDT marks him as the seventh new signing for the team, ending the speculation surrounding the mystery of the team’s masked goalkeeper.
Zubiaurre brings valuable experience to JDT, having previously played in La Liga with Real Sociedad from 2017 to 2023 before making his move to Malaysia. His signing was officially confirmed by Johor Darul Ta’zim, putting to rest the long-standing rumors about his potential transfer.
JDT, managed by Hector Bidoglio, had earlier secured the services of another goalkeeper, 18-year-old Christian Abad from Elche, further bolstering their squad for the upcoming season.
