Today, Laos will face with Timor Leste in 3rd place match of AFF U23 Championship 2022 at Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh. but several players and staff of Laos has tested positive COVID-19 and have injury players until there are not enough players to compete. Before finally deciding to withdraw from the competition.
“Laos U23 national team has withdrawn from the AFF U23 Championship 2022 due to the situation of Laos U23 national team 13 infected with COVID-19 and 6 players injured in the last 3 matches. come, leaving only 6 players to compete.” LFF said in official statement.
“Therefore, the management team and the coaching team Decided to withdraw the team from the competition, the federation therefore expresses its condolences. and apologize to the fans for coming here.”
And from this case, The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has decided for the Timor Leste U23. Get the 3rd place of the tournament automatically.
