E. Elavarasan, head coach of Malaysia U23 national team was also aware of the matter and stated that his team would try hard to meet the fans’ expectations and effort to win the mission to the final round of AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 in Qatar.
“We came here with the same target, at least to win a slot in the final round.” E. Elavarsan said in the pre-match press conference.
“We rotate players and hope that the players in the squad can do their best for this championship.”
“Expectations in Malaysia are very high, and when we come here, we definitely want to do our best and try to fulfil what the supporters want,”
For the Group H competition in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers, Malaysia will face Bangladesh on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the Philippines on Saturday, September 9, 2023 and the host, Thailand on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, with all three matches taking place at Chonburi Stadium.
Next, 16 teams consisting of the 11 group champion teams in the qualifying competition (Groups A to K), together with the four best second-place teams and the host, Qatar, will be eligible to play in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024, which will take place in Qatar.
