The Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) has announced a landmark naming-rights partnership with Telekom Malaysia (TM) involving two of the country’s most iconic sporting venues.
The three-year strategic collaboration aims to ensure that both stadiums remain modern, competitive, and capable of hosting major international sporting and entertainment events.
Effective March 6, 2026, the National Stadium Bukit Jalil will be renamed TM Stadium Nasional, while the Axiata Arena — formerly known as Stadium Putra — will now carry the new name Unifi Arena.
Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Stadium Corporation, Iliyas Jamil, described the collaboration as a crucial step toward strengthening the long-term sustainability of Malaysia’s national sporting venues.
“This naming-rights partnership is an initiative to reinforce the sustainability and long-term development of both stadiums,” he said.
“The funds generated from this collaboration will be channelled toward upgrading stadium facilities and delivering a more exciting and comfortable experience for visitors.”
Group Chief Executive Officer of Telekom Malaysia, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, expressed pride in being entrusted with the naming rights for two venues deeply connected to Malaysia’s sporting identity.
“We are honoured to be given the opportunity to hold the naming rights to these national venues,” he said.
“The National Stadium and Stadium Putra are not just event venues — they are symbols of national pride. Through this collaboration, we hope to continue bringing communities together and inspiring national spirit for generations to come.”
For decades, both the National Stadium Bukit Jalil and Axiata Arena have served as central stages for major sporting and entertainment events in Malaysia.
From international football matches to world-class badminton tournaments and large-scale concerts, the venues have hosted countless historic moments and passionate celebrations by Malaysian fans.
With the new branding as TM Stadium Nasional and Unifi Arena, both venues are expected to strengthen their reputation as premier destinations for international sports and entertainment events.
