Selangor FC has officially opened Kalamullah Al-Hafiz, goalkeeper Malaysia national team to join the team in the second leg of season 2024/25 after leaving Kedah Darul Aman.
Kalam is set to compete in both the Malaysia League and the AFC Champions League Two 2024/25 with Selangor FC.
Having made a name for himself during his time at PJ City FC, where he made 54 appearances, Kalam then joined Kedah Darul Aman, contributing 36 appearances in one season. Kalam expressed excitement about joining Selangor FC, acknowledging the club’s prestigious history and promising to adapt quickly to the team’s environment. He also hopes for strong support from fans, which he believes will boost the players’ motivation and drive the team towards success.
“Selangor is one of the big club in the Malaysian league, especially during the era of the late Mokhtar Dahari, Shukor Adan and many other players who have played in this club that I know,” Kalam said.
“The atmosphere here is quite different for me but it is not an excuse to not adjust myself quickly with the other players. My hope is to play at a higher level and achieve a lot of success with this team.”
He also expects strong support from the supporters, “I also hope that the supporters can give words of encouragement to the players and give us support because that way it can increase our motivation.”
