Ipoh District Police has announced four local men were arrested following an incident of commotion among supporters during the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 between Perak FC and Selangor FC at Stadium Perak, Ipoh last night.
ACP Yahaya, Ipoh District Police Chief said that all those arrested, aged between 18 and 26, will be investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
“The situation has been brought under control by the police force on duty at the scene.” ACP Yahaya said.
“A total of four local men between the ages of 18 and 26 were arrested for being involved in the commotion.”
“A urine screening test on one of the arrestees found positive for TFC (marijuana).”
“All those arrested were brought to the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court today for an application for remand,”
In addition, he said, the police are also tracking other individuals who were also involved in the commotion.
Thus, Yahaya asked the public who have any information regarding the incident to immediately contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) Senior Criminal Investigation Officer, ASP Chua at 012-6195312, to assist with the investigation.
