PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026, which will return to Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, from 6 to 11 January 2026. As a BWF World Tour Super 1000 event, the tournament continues to hold its place among the world’s elite badminton competitions, drawing top-ranked athletes, passionate fans, and global attention.
Regarded as one of only four Super 1000 events on the global badminton circuit, the PETRONAS Malaysia Open stands alongside the sport’s most prestigious tournaments, such as the All England Open and Indonesia Open. Each year, the event transforms Kuala Lumpur into the epicenter of international badminton, celebrating athletic excellence, national pride, and Malaysia’s enduring love for the sport.
“The PETRONAS Malaysia Open is more than a tournament – it’s a celebration of Malaysia’s sporting spirit,” said Dato’ Kenny Goh Chee Keong, Secretary General of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
BAM today announced that ticket sales will open at 2pm on 3 November 2025 through www.ticket2u.com.my, with a special Early Bird Promotion running until 30 November 2025.
Given the overwhelming demand in recent years — with several seating categories selling out within days — fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early.
To ensure accessibility for all, BAM has maintained ticket prices at nearly the same rates as the 2025 edition. Early Bird discounts apply to all daily passes, while season passes — covering the entire week of competition — are available from RM282 to RM2,000, depending on category.
“Fans are advised to purchase their tickets early and take advantage of the Early Bird Promotion,” Dato’ Kenny added. “We’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm from Malaysian supporters, and this year will be no different.”
Home fans can look forward to cheering on some of the nation’s biggest badminton stars as Malaysia’s top pairs return to defend home pride on the global stage.
Leading the lineup are world champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, joined by former world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, as well as 2025 silver medallists Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, who continue to inspire the next generation with their electrifying performances.
With these powerhouse names set to feature alongside the sport’s biggest international icons — including Olympic gold medallists, world champions, and rising stars — the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026 promises six days of thrilling rallies, unforgettable drama, and world-class entertainment.
Beyond competition, the PETRONAS Malaysia Open remains a cornerstone of Malaysia’s global sporting identity. It embodies excellence, unity, and the nation’s passion for badminton — a sport that has long captured the hearts of Malaysians from every generation.
As anticipation builds, the 2026 edition is expected to draw record-breaking attendance, both at Axiata Arena and through international broadcasts reaching millions worldwide.
