Johor Darul Ta’Zim keeps the opportunity in the first match after beating Negeri Sembilan FC with a score of 3-0 in the Piala Malaysia 2023 Quarter-Final First leg at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
JDT’s greatness sparked in the 14th minute when Bergson Da Silva’s precise attempt was saved by the Negeri Sembilan goalkeeper, Firdaus Irman Mohd Fadhil and was saved by the Hobin Jang Hobin squad’s goal.
However, the hosts’ goal finally leaked when Nathatel Shio Hong Wan’s ball was put to good use by Arif Aiman Mohd Hanafi when he hit the ball from outside the penalty box in the 19th minute.
JDT’s attacks didn’t stop there when in the 23rd minute, Heberty Fernandes de Andrade’s attempt almost hit the net.
Following a mistake by Negeri Sembilan defender Nasrullah Hanif bringing down Bergson in the penalty box, JDT received a penalty, and he took the effort easily to beat Firdaus Irman for the second goal in the 30th minute.
Continuing the second half, K Devan’s men were seen to increase the intensity of their performance and managed to provide better competition against JDT compared to the first half.
Bergson, however, added to Negeri Sembilan’s misery with JDT’s third goal in the 90th minute, which came from a set-piece from outside the box, for the team to head home with a comfortable lead going into the second leg at home.
