The Malaysia U23 national team was defeated in. the second match after losing to China U23 national team, scoring 1-2 in the friendly match at Jinshan Stadium, Shanghai.
In the action, China took the lead as early as the fourth minute through Du Yuesheng’s header before Malaysia tied the score in the 35th minute when Aliff Izwan Yuslan quickly grabbed the ball after Syahir Bashah’s attempt hit the crossbar.
Misfortune befell Malaysia after Aliff Izwan was shown a second yellow card in the 39th minute, and China took a 2-1 lead when Tao Qianglong converted a free kick from inside the penalty box at the end of the first half.
Continuing the second half, Malaysia, who played with less than one player, managed to resist China’s frequent attack and Rahadiazli Rahalim brilliantly denied Qianglong’s attempt in front of the national goal in the 72nd minute.
No extra goals saw the score remain 1-2 until the final whistle.
