6 May 2024 – Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) announced the FIFA Futsal World Ranking of men’s and women’s futsal teams for the first time.
FIFA has never had a world ranking for Futsal before. In the past, the world rankings were based on rankings from statistics websites. And competitions at international levels have never used such world rankings as a criterion for dividing the pot. But will use results from past competitions to become a criterion for dividing the pot instead.
From this first FIFA Futsal World Ranking, Malaysia Men’s Futsal national team are 79th with 971.06 points and ranked 6th in ASEAN. And Malaysia Women’s Futsal national team are 28th with 987.72 points and ranked 4th in ASEAN.
As for the number 1 team in the world, it belongs to the Brazil national team all men’s and women’s teams, with the men’s team having 1568.41 points and the women’s team having 1364.75 points.
