Perak FC earned 3 points and climbed up from the bottom of the table after beating Kuala Lumpur City scoring 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Perak Stadium, Ipoh.
Head coach Yusri Che Lah fielded a strong lineup, with Clayton Da Silva leading the attack, while KL City struggled without key players like Haqimi Azim and Paulo Josue.
Perak dominated from the start with sharp passing that forced KL City into a defensive posture. Luka Milunovic had an early chance in the 3rd minute, but KL City goalkeeper Azri Ghani made a crucial save. Azri continued to impress, stopping a well-placed free kick from Tommy Mawat in the 11th minute.
KL City began to find their rhythm later in the first half, and Brendan Gan came close to scoring in the 35th minute. However, Perak’s goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli came up big in a one-on-one situation to keep the match scoreless by halftime.
In the second half, Perak maintained their pressure, and their persistence paid off in the 62nd minute when Luka Milunovic scored the decisive goal, converting a cross from Azfar Fikri to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
KL City responded by increasing their offensive efforts, but Haziq Nadzli stood firm, making several key saves to preserve Perak’s lead. Despite KL City’s late pushes, Perak held on for a much-needed victory, earning three crucial points and climbing the standings.
