Kedah Darul Aman made a strong start to their Liga A1 Semi-Pro 2025/26 campaign by securing a narrow 1-0 win over Machan FC in their opening fixture at Stadium Mini MPKP, Jitra.
Under the guidance of head coach Azzmi Ab Aziz, KDA fielded Aqil as the last line of defense in goal, while Sharul led the frontline in their bid to breach Machan’s defence. Team captain Zamri marshalled the squad effectively throughout the evening.
Machan FC, on the other hand, relied on Ahmad Solehin between the posts, with Muhammad Akhir taking the armband as captain.
The home side wasted no time making their mark, opening the scoring in just the 5th minute through none other than captain Zamri, who displayed great composure and leadership in orchestrating Kedah’s play.
Despite launching several dangerous attacks, Machan struggled to penetrate KDA’s resilient backline, and the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts.
In the second half, both sides continued to push forward in search of goals. KDA made a tactical substitution in the 58th minute, replacing Sharul Aiman with Shahrul Zulkifli to inject fresh energy into the attack.
Both teams made multiple changes in a bid to alter the tempo and find the equalizer or insurance goal, but neither could find the back of the net despite late pressure.
At the final whistle, KDA walked away with all three points, marking a successful start to their first match of the season.
