Pape Diakite, a Senegalese defender aged 32, has officially completed his move to Kedah FA ahead of the 2025 A1 Semi-Pro League season.
The Senegalese defender, who previously donned the Terengganu jersey during the 2021 Malaysian Super League campaign, is set to make his return to Malaysian football. Diakite is expected to become a defensive mainstay for Kedah FA as they gear up for the new season, which kicks off on 2 August 2025.
Diakite played a key role in Terengganu’s backline during his previous stint in Malaysia, and his familiarity with the local football scene is expected to help him quickly adapt to life at Kedah. During his time in Malaysia, he racked up 29 appearances across three competitions — the Super League, Malaysia Cup, and FA Cup.
In addition to his time in Malaysia, Diakite has also plied his trade in several other leagues, including the Thai League 2 with Chiangmai United, as well as stints in Vietnam and Nepal.
The 32-year-old is expected to make his debut for the Hijau Kuning (Green and Yellow) outfit in their season opener against Perlis GSA on 2 August 2025 at 8:45 PM, to be held at Stadium Tuanku Syed Putra.
