Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team admitted that he never asked to leave the team and signaled that he wants to stay in charge of the team until the next Asian Cup.
Malaysia ended of the way for FIFA World Cup after end of 3rd place in group D in Asian Qualifiers round 2.
“I have to stay here and I never asked to leave the team. We always fight, but this (leaving the national team) is not a decision I can make.” Pan-Gon said in a post-match press conference.
“I want to go to the next Asian Cup,”
“We aimed to get at least seven goals but we didn’t succeed and this is a painful situation.
“Our strategy didn’t quite work out and there were some mistakes in the first half until we allowed Taiwan to score first.
“We got up in the second half but we have to learn from this match and be better in the future,”
