Albirex Niigata(S), defending champions of the Singapore Premier League decided to terminate with Kazuaki Yoshinaga, Japanese head coach by mutual consent after poor performance in the starting period of the league.
Albirex Niigata is the season 2024/25 is the first season of the club after reforming to be a Singaporean team for club license AFC, and remain 8 Japanese players in the club as a ‘foreign quota’.
However, after 8 matches in the SPL 2024/25, Albirex is down to 7th place and has 3 points following the record win 1 and lose 7 matches, and the club has decided to terminate with Kazuaki Yoshinaga.
Now, the club has appointed Keiji Shigetomi, assistant coach will take over as the new head coach with immediate effect.
