Indonesia U23 national team clinch first victory in the history of this tournament after beating Australia U23 national team scoring 1-0 in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Group Stage, Group A at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
In the beginning game, Australia was the side to attack Indonesia and got more opportunities but couldn’t convert to a goal.
In the 21st minute, Australia awarded a penalty following Komang Teguh’s handball in the penalty box, and the referee decided to a penalty after checking VAR and Mohamed Touré shot to be saved by Ernando Sutrayadi, goalkeeper of Indonesia.
But in the late game of the first half, in the 45th minute, following a corner-kick of Indonesia and Nathan Tjoe-A-On opened to Komang Teguh’s header from very close range to the top left corner, Indonesia led 1-0.
In the remaining time of the first half, there was no additional score, ending the first half with Indonesia leading 1-0.
In the second half, Australia is still opening to attack and pressing to try to get the more chances to goal, but still no goal.
Even with 11 minutes in the stoppage time, Australia still couldn’t get an equalizer goal, ending Indonesia’s win 1-0.
