Jakub Świerczok, Polish striker of Nagoya Grampus has banned by Asian Football Confederation 4 years for illegal doping in the AFC Champions League 2021 Quarter-Final.
Świerczok was temporarily suspended by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) from December 2021. As reported at the time, a positive result of the anti-doping test was the test of sample A carried out on 17 October 2021 after the match was lost Pohang Steelers 0-3. The AFC initiated disciplinary proceedings against Świerczok at the end of last year and has now made its final decision.
A statement on Friday’s Nagoya Grampus website said that a banned substance was also detected in sample B.
The four-year ineligibility runs from 9 December 2021, when the temporary suspension was decided. The penalty for Świerczok covers all competitions, including national, international, friendly, and official matches.
“As for Świerczok’s contract with the club, we are currently negotiating with the footballer through a lawyer,” Nagoya Grampus wrote on the website.
