Vietnam will have 1 team only in AFC Cup 2022 after “Nam Dinh” team 4th rank of V.League 2021 refused to participate
Vietnam have quota 2 teams qualify to AFC Cup 2022 It was decided that the placed team in V.League 2021 at the time of abandonment including Viettel (2nd rank) and Nam Dinh (4th rank) (Thanh Quang Ninh 3rd rank team not praticipate after withdraw from the league in season 2022 due loss of their main sponsor and other financial difficulties.)
However, from the last update Nam Dinh declined to take part in the competition due problem of financial, and from the withdrawal of Nam Dinh. This slot can’t be reallocated to other Vietnamese clubs and will be redistributed to Myanmar, as the next eligible country that is Hantharwady United will be qualify to group stage
This causes the numbers of the teams from the play-offs don’t match with the remaining group stage slots. So teams from the highest ranked country in the play-off, Indonesia (Bali United) will be given a bye to the group stage.
In the playoff fight for the AFC Cup 2022 group stage in ASEAN Zone slots It will be a competition between Young Elephant (Laos) VS Visakha FC (Cambodia)
