JDT Racing Team etched their name into the history books after securing their first-ever double race victory in the Asia Road Racing Championship 2026 following a dominant performance at the Sepang International Circuit, Sepang.
Leading the charge was Malaysian star Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, who produced a sensational weekend on board the Ducati Panigale V4 R, winning both races and delivering a flawless performance throughout the opening round.
The former MotoGP rider capped off a remarkable weekend by maintaining control from the very first practice session on Friday all the way to Race 2 on Sunday, effectively recording a clean sweep across the entire event.
His commanding victories not only highlighted his consistency and racecraft but also placed him firmly at the top of the championship standings early in the season.
The celebrations were further amplified when new team recruit Andi Farid Izdihar delivered an impressive debut performance with the team.
The Indonesian rider secured third place in both races, giving JDT Racing Team a double podium finish and underlining the squad’s strong competitiveness heading into the new season.
Speaking after the race, Hafizh expressed gratitude to the entire team and supporters who played a role in the historic achievement.
“First of all, I’m grateful for this success, and I want to thank everyone involved in the team, especially Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the Regent of Johor, as well as the fans and my family who have always supported and understood my passion and career,” said Hafizh.
Andi Farid admitted that his race did not begin smoothly but credited the performance of his Ducati machine and his determination for the podium finish.
“It was a very bad start, but I managed to fight back and overtake riders one by one. I’m satisfied with third place and very happy with the result,” he said.
Following the opening round, Hafizh leads the championship standings with 50 points, holding a 10-point advantage over Japanese rival Keito Abe.
Andi Farid sits in third place with 32 points, giving JDT Racing Team two riders inside the top three of the standings.
The second round of the ARRC 2026 will take place at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, from May 8–10, where new challenges await the JDT Racing Team as they aim to continue their strong start to the season.
