Thailand’s national football team sealed their spot in the King’s Cup 2025 Final after a commanding 3-0 victory over Fiji in the semi-final clash at Kanchanaburi Provincial Stadium, Kanchanaburi.
Head coach Masatada Ishii fielded an attacking lineup with skipper Peeradon Chamratsamee orchestrating the midfield, while Ekanit Panya, Teerasak Poeiphimai, and Poramet Arjvilai spearheaded the frontline.
Thailand wasted no time asserting dominance. In the 11th minute, Ekanit’s clever play from the byline set up Benjamin Davis, who slotted home to put the War Elephants ahead 1-0. Just six minutes later, a well-worked move saw Promes set up Teerasak, who finished clinically with his left foot to double the advantage.
The Thais kept pressing for more, with Teerasak and Davis both denied by the Fijian goalkeeper and the woodwork before halftime, leaving the score 2-0 at the break.
Early in the second half, the hosts stretched their lead further. In the 47th minute, Benjamin Davis turned provider again, teeing up Poramet Arjvilai, who volleyed past the Fiji keeper for 3-0.
Coach Ishii used the comfortable lead to rotate his squad, introducing Jaroensak Wonggorn, Worachit Kanitsribampen, and Supachok Sarachat on the hour mark. Later, Supachai Jaided and Nicholas Mickelson also came on to keep the team fresh.
Thailand nearly added a fourth when Supachai raced through on goal in the 82nd minute, only to drag his shot inches wide. Despite further chances, the scoreline remained 3-0 at full-time.
With the win, Thailand advanced to their second consecutive King’s Cup Final, where they will face Iraq (FIFA Rank: 58), who edged Hong Kong 2-1 in the other semi-final.
The much-anticipated final will take place on September 7, 2025, at 20:00 (local time) at the same venue in Kanchanaburi.
