FC Barcelona has officially cancelled its pre-season tour to Japan ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, citing a serious breach of contract by the event organizers. The team was scheduled to face J.League side Vissel Kobe in a friendly match on July 27.
In a statement released on the club’s official website, Barcelona did not disclose the exact nature of the contractual violation but extended its sincere apologies to fans in Japan for the abrupt cancellation of the match.
Despite the setback, the club is currently reviewing the possibility of continuing its summer tour in South Korea, where two fixtures are planned — against FC Seoul on July 31 and Daegu FC on August 4. These matches will only proceed if the Korean promoters fulfill certain conditions set by the club.
Following the potential South Korea leg, Barcelona is set to conclude their pre-season preparations with a special match against Serie A side Como on August 10 in Europe.
