Malaysian Football League (MFL) is proud to announce the renewal of its exclusive partnership with Genius Sports for another five years, spanning from the 2025/26 season through to the 2029/30 season. This strategic extension marks a significant step in elevating the digital and commercial landscape of Malaysian football.
Under the renewed agreement, Genius Sports’ cutting-edge Football LiveStats system will continue to capture and distribute official match statistics from every MFL game. These real-time updates will power live coverage across MFL’s digital platforms, television broadcasts, and partner media channels—delivering a richer experience for football fans nationwide.
As the trusted gamification and data partner for global football giants such as FIFA, the English Football League (EFL), and Major League Soccer (MLS), Genius Sports will also introduce bespoke fantasy and predictor games tailored for Malaysian fans. Supporters will soon be able to showcase their football knowledge, follow their favorite players, and compete against friends and fellow fans both locally and globally.
To further drive international exposure and revenue growth, Genius Sports has been granted exclusive rights to distribute live match data and video streams from MFL competitions across the globe. This move is aligned with the company’s vision of transforming sports experiences through innovation and technology.
Currently ranked 11th among 47 Asian footballing nations, Malaysia’s domestic league stands to benefit significantly from this extended collaboration, particularly in terms of global reach and digital fan engagement.
The new agreement was officially signed on Thursday by MFL Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, and Genius Sports’ Chief Partnerships Officer, Steven Burton. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by MFL President Dato’ Ab Ghani Hassan and Mohamed Feizel, VP of Sports Partnerships at Genius Sports.
